CASE STUDY 02 / SMALL BUSINESS OPERATIONS

Commercial pilot

OpenLine Studio

Make the next customer step easier.

A focused website and workflow service for small businesses, connecting a clear offer to an enquiry, a quote and the next useful action.

WHO IT IS FOR

Owner-led service businesses that need a clearer online presence and a more organised enquiry process.

MY ROLE

Founder · offer design · website and workflow development · delivery and QA

The problem

A small business can do excellent work and still make it difficult for a customer to understand the offer or make contact. The problem often continues after the enquiry: details are scattered, follow-up depends on memory, and quotes live in disconnected documents.

The approach

I start with the owner’s actual customer journey. What does someone need to understand before making contact? What must the business learn to respond well? The website is designed around that exchange.

The service combines clear copy, a mobile-friendly website and an agreed enquiry handoff. Behind the scenes, structured intake, a prospect pipeline, delivery checklists and review points make the work repeatable.

AI supports research, drafting and workflow preparation. I remain responsible for checking business facts, agreeing scope, reviewing the finished experience and approving delivery. The service is being developed through a founder-led commercial pilot.

HOW THE WORK FITS TOGETHER

  1. 01Clarify the offer
  2. 02Map the customer journey
  3. 03Build and review
  4. 04Test the handoff
  5. 05Launch and support

Inside the product

A clearer website

A coherent explanation of services, trust signals and next steps, with layouts that work on a phone as well as a desktop.

Enquiry flow

Define the information needed to respond, the destination for an enquiry and who takes the next action. Integrations are agreed and tested for each scope.

QuikVoice option

A browser-local quote and invoice companion: create a quote, record approval, convert it to an invoice, record checked payments and export a backup.

Delivery discipline

A written scope, review stages, practical handover and explicit boundaries for hosting, maintenance and optional services.

A CLEAR VIEW OF READINESS

What is ready.
What still needs work.

  • The business is in commercial pilot; I am not claiming an established customer base or proven revenue uplift.
  • AI voice, calendar connections, automated billing and customer notifications require separate setup and validation. They are not presented as live standard features.
  • QuikVoice records payments manually. It is not a payment processor, bank feed, accounting system or AI voice product.

What comes next

Validate the full customer journey through real pilot engagements, learn which operational improvements matter most, and expand only the integrations that earn their place.

WHAT THIS PROJECT SAYS ABOUT MY WORK

A useful business website does more than look polished. It makes it easier for the customer to decide and the owner to respond.
